Call out for organisations to take part in Creativity and Wellbeing Week 2017
12-18 June 2017
This year’s Creativity and Wellbeing Week will be taking place from 12-18 June and we’re looking for organisations, artists, clinicians, commissioners and thinkers to get involved.
Our sixth festival will be structured around the lifecourse, exploring the different ways in which we can benefit from engaging with the arts throughout our lives. Each day will be dedicated to a section of the lifecourse, so we are encouraging organisations to submit events, performances, workshops, talks, launches and exhibitions to synchronise with this.
Monday 12 June
The festival kicks off with events focused on using the arts to encourage good health and wellbeing for Children and Young People. In this section of the Week, we are also welcoming events relating to Early Years and/or that engage parents and their children.
Wednesday 14 June
Managing stress is a common challenge for working age adults. If you use the arts to reduce stress in the lives of adults, this is the day for you. We are also organising a mass participation event on social media so you can share photos of your creative work online using the hashtag #CreativityandWellbeing
Thursday 15 June
We have an ageing population and it needs to be recognised that participation in creative activities is a component of maintaining wellbeing in later life. Thursday is about showcasing projects that enable older people to take part in the arts, whether it is to protect cognitive abilities, reduce the risk of falling, tackle social isolation or improve overall health.
Friday 16 June
End of life care is something that will affect everyone but few consider the benefits of talking about it. If you want to showcase how the arts, creativity or design can be incorporated into end of life care (whether that is by hosting a death café or discussion), get in touch.
The deadline for event information to appear in our printed brochure is 24 March, midday. The brochure will be distributed to venues across London so we highly recommend submitting information to us by this date for maximum reach. If submitted afterwards, we can include listings on the festival’s website. Please use the festival theme as a guideline – we also welcome events that do not necessarily fit within the theme for each day.
Last year Creativity and Wellbeing Week reached 25,000 people and 2017’s festival is set to be even bigger. Get involved, network, demonstrate best practice and show everyone what you have to offer.
