About the event

The Falls Church Anglican choir will be visiting Royal Brompton Hospital for an a capella lunchtime choral concert featuring shaker hymns and spirituals.

The Falls Church Anglican is a large parish in Northern Virginia dating back to 1732. Music groups at The Falls Church include an adult choir, children’s choirs, an orchestra, a handbell choir and worship teams. The Falls Church Choir, in addition to singing during worship on Sunday mornings, has performed throughout Germany and at Carnegie Hall. Their 2012 tour in the United Kingdom will include a recital at St. Paul’s Cathedral. Their repertoire spans African-American Spirituals to Bach Cantatas to compositions by contemporary American composers.

Simon Dixon, Director of Worship and Music at TFCA, joined the staff in October 2010 having moved from the UK with his wife Caryn. He trained as a classical concert organist, performing in churches and cathedrals throughout the UK including St. Paul’s Cathedral, Kings College Cambridge and the Albert hall, London.  Simon has also travelled extensively globally throughout Europe, Canada, USA and New Zealand giving solo concerts as well as accompanying choirs and orchestras. He was on the worship and pastoral staff at Holy Trinity Brompton, London for 19 years.
