About the event

Martin Pyne and Maria Hayes
Martin’s innovative jazz trio Busnoys returns to St Christopher's as part of the Cicely Saunders Concert Series, with a unique blend of sound where ‘haunting atmospherics blend with mesmeric grooves and melodic improvisation’, featuring Martin on vibes, percussion and electronics, alongside virtuosic bass guitarist Jeff Spencer and drummer Trevor Davies. Visual artist Maria Hayes responds to the music in real time. As she creates paintings, using an iPad, the images will be projected as a backdrop to the music. The result is a wonderland of both sights and sounds.

We are hoping that Maria Hayes will be running a workshop the afternoon of Wednesday June 4th on how to use the 'Brushes' app on an I pad. Many of our patients who are non verbal or have limited movement are using IPads to create art work and compose music. This workshop will be open to the public.

Please check our website ( nearer the time to check that this workshop is happening and details of how to book in. You are then welcome to return to the concert on the 6th, bring your IPad an respond to the music alongside Maria. Work created will be shown at the end of the evening.
