About the event

Artist Shiraz Bayjoo will be extending his project with young children at the Royal London Hospital to the main atrium for Creativity and Wellbeing Week. His project 'My Journey and Other Stories' engages young patients to explore emotional storytelling through drawing, painting, and collage-making. Using INIVA emotional learning cards–which encourage emotional literacy and challenge ideas about who can make art–students explore how colour, forms, and textures can be used to express the way we feel and understand ourselves.Drop by the Stepney Way entrance of the Royal London Hospital between 12-3pm on Friday 14th June to see an exhibition of student work, collated by Shiraz Bayjoo and explore relationships of migration and the complex histories of inner city London. The project 'My Journey and Other Stories' was developed for Vital Arts in collaboration with Art Night, kindly supported by Saja Foundation and Outset(Image: Shiraz Bayjoo, ‘Insecure’ (2014). Digitised collage, acrylic ink on paper with archival lithograph. Co-commissioned by Iniva and A Space for Emotional Learning Cards “A-Z of Emotions”.)
