About the event

People over 60 are invited to join CREST Waltham Forest for an hour of intergenerational Chantraine seated dance together with pupils from Forest School.  Chantraine Dance was created in Paris in 1958 by Francoise and Alain Chantraine and brought to England   forty years ago by Patricia Woodall.   It encompasses five times of dance; rhythm, interiority, technique, creativity and choreography.

This method uses a wide repertoire of music and   incorporates movement from many dance disciplines, contemporary, ballet, folk, jazz.   Based on the premise that dance is for everyone regardless of age or ability, it is positive in outlook, “what did I do well “? “what could I do better?” ‘Mistakes help us to learn ‘thus building confidence, not only in dance but also in life, regardless of age.

So, join us at Peterhouse 122, Forest Rise E17 3PW on 11.6 19   at 12noon   for one hour using mountain images to enjoy a different landscape, dancing fun,  and to see how dance can improve strength, mental and physical agility and well -being.   The event is free, places are limited, booking is essential. Ring Sam on 07584 294 373 for more details or to book
