About the event

Key Changes #livinglyrics is a collective of of singers, rappers, MC’s and producers aged 16 – 25 who are affected by mental health problems. During January - May 2015 participants have engaged in weekly creative writing workshops and recording sessions facilitated by professional musicians and peer mentors leading to a #livinglyrics mixtape summer tour. This unique event will showcase lyrical themes through spoken word, poetry, rhyming (rap) or song on subjects important to the young people, with a particular emphasis on exploring mental health and emotional wellbeing in the context of the issues and causes within their community. The event is co-produced by Key Changes and Islington Council for the Word Festival.
