About the event

Knitting, Crochet, Sewing – Ever wondered what all the fuss is about?

Well here’s your chance to find out…

MakeSpace and ManCrafts have combined their efforts to bring you this one off workshop: MakeSpace for Men is offering you the chance to come and find out more about the textile crafts, what’s involved in knitting, how to’s, and a chance to familiarise yourself with techniques and materials; plus the ins and outs of why the textile crafts could be of benefit to your wellbeing.

Makespace is Charnwood Arts weekly creative arts group for adults, designed to foster creativity for wellbeing. They will be having their own launch in the same week on Wednesday 15th June 2016, 12.30pm -2.30pm.

ManCrafts is an open group run in conjunction with Charnwood Arts; for men with an interest in textile crafts. It runs once a week at Charnwood Arts and forms a part of a PhD research project on the slow process of crafting and how the activity can help develop a positive mind and improve feelings of wellness.

So why not take advantage of this opportunity and come and find out what the fuss really is all about.

If you wish you can also contribute (through discussion) to a PhD research project exploring men’s relationship to the textile crafts and its use as a therapeutic tool to manage wellbeing in future.

No previous experience necessary

The event is FREE – we just ask for a small donation to go towards tea, coffee and biscuits.
