About the event

'A very touching, funny and truly terrific piece of theatre' 'Witty' 'Highly original' 'Poignant' Audience members

Lily and Paco who have both lost their mothers recently arrive at the top of a mountain to see a total lunar eclipse. The eclipse for Lily signals that the spirit of her mother is about to step forward from the Moon to say goodbye and answer the questions that Lily has been left with. For Paco, a Spanish immigrant, the eclipse is just the perfect excuse to relax, enjoy a picnic and take a few pictures. When the eclipse comes the Earth blocks the Sun’s light from being reflected by the Moon and it gets darker than it has ever been before. A moment of darkness that will pull at the boundaries of their understanding of life and their relationship.

We have devised this piece with director Jonathan Young from conversations and improvisations based on our own personal experience of bereavement.

Total Eclipse provides the audience with an entertaining experience while sharing a very personal journey of navigating grief.
