About the event

Claremont is a community arts, therapy and wellbeing center for people aged 55 and over. Claremont is about people having opportunities to shine and live happier, healthier, more connected lives. We work with a range of people, in particular those who are isolated and or lonely, and we have substantial experience providing services for older people. We provide a range of low cost services, offering more than thirty five classes/groups each week to people aged 55+, with over 450 attendances a week. Broadly speaking, these can be divided into four kinds of areas: Art, Music, Movement and Dance and Drama. We also have an art therapy service attached to the centre and provide long-term low-cost psychotherapy for people aged 18+.

We are opening our doors to allow the public for free into our Creative Dance Class on Wednesday 15th June. This class usually costs £5 (but today is free) and is based on contemporary dance that uses creativity to explore moving to various music and dance styles. The participants challenge themselves in creating their own dances as well as learning famous choreographers pieces.  This welcoming and exciting class is particularly good for physical activity, freedom of movement and great with helping your memory!
