About the event

The Who Cares? exhibition has been created by a group of family carers who came together, over a period of nine weeks, to learn the art form of printmaking at our studio in Ipswich. Their time in the studio to attend weekly half day workshops and the costs of framing the work for the exhibition have been funded by Suffolk County Council and Ipswich Borough Council. Funding for the Who Cares? printmaking project and the exhibition was given to us in recognition of the benefits to the health and wellbeing of the carers who took part, who were mainly from the charity Suffolk Family Carers.  The exhibition explores their roles as carers, warts and all and provides  a unique insight into what it feels like, to look after someone you love who can't always look after themselves. The exhibition opens to the public on 26th April and runs through to the 14th June, encompassing both Carers week and Wellbeing week. It is at the Whistler Gallery, part of DanceEast, in the Jerwood DanceHouse, Foundry Lane, Ipswich. The exhbition is open to the public when DanceEast is open which is usually from 9 am to 5 pm and later when there are performances or dance classes on in the building. Entrance is free. Please note the work is not for sale.
